I feel vindicated, slightly. Once again the BCS got what it deserves, a real snoozer of a game. Although I am very sure it also made very much money along the way.

I am not sure when people will begin to realize that one cannot judge the quality of a football team by virtue of wins alone. Notre Dame and Ohio State finished the season without a loss. They are not the two best teams. Not by a long shot. The polls are a record of past performance. They cannot predict future outcomes. Even under that notion, the polls are sadly lacking. Was Notre Dame's undefeated season really better than Oregon's?

I wrote that the vindication was slight. That is because I think Alabama would have beat any team from any school last night. At least Notre Dame helped them look that way.
