Mark Robert of NASA conducted a little experiment. He placed fake turtles and snakes on the shoulder of a road and watched as 1,000 drivers past and recorded their behavior. Ninety-four percent (940) behaved the way you would expect, they just kept on driving. Sixty of the drivers swerved out of their way to run the fake animals over. Did you grasp that? These were turtles and snakes, well off the road, and these jackasses ran them over. Interesting to note that of the sixty, 89% were driving SUVs.

Well, that comment has caused a twitter storm.
