Don’t we all anticipate the release of the film version of our favorite books only to be entirely disappointed at the result?

I know that I generally have decided to avoid these types of films all together these days.  I think I can honestly say, and I have seen many, many film adaptations, that the ones I like the best are limited to the Lord of the Rings trilogy and Rob Reiner’s Stand By Me (an adaptation of Stephen King’s short story The Body).  What do you say?

All that said, I await with a modicum of anticipation, the release of this trilogy, all the while being well-assured it too will be as disappointing as the rest.
