Today’s Daily Allowance: It’s Derby Time

 

Make Yourself a  Mint Julep

Take a double shot of good Kentucky bourbon (if you’re in perfect Derby spirit, you probably have some Four Roses on hand), gently crush a few leaves of mint and a bit of maple syrup (see below).  Add some crushed ice.

Voila.

Enjoy in moderation.

(if maple syrup scares you, you can make a simple syrup – sugar and water in equal parts, boil off the water till it gets thick and, uh, syrupy!)
